Are peptides legal in the US?
Research peptides are legal to sell and to purchase in the United States when supplied strictly for research use and when no medicinal claims are made. The framework that governs this is the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Under that legislation, a product cannot be sold for human therapeutic use without authorization from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Compounds offered for research and development use, with no medicinal claims and no intent for human consumption, sit outside the medicines-approval regime.
Healius Peptides sells research-grade chemical compounds. Healius is not a compounding pharmacy or outsourcing facility as defined under Sections 503A and 503B of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and no product in the catalog is intended for human or veterinary consumption. This research-only stance is the legal basis for US supply, and it applies to other compliant research peptide suppliers in the United States.
US customers are responsible for ensuring that their own intended use of any compound complies with federal law, any state-level controlled-substance rules, and any institutional rules that may apply. The position taken on this website and on every Healius product page is for research and development use only.
